YOUR STORY IS REAL AND CAPTIVATING.
WHAT IS IT? THINK ON IT?
You have a story to tell … and it is interesting and true. It is your story and it speaks of why you are as you are and how to got to this place today. And it really is intriguing. Think of it as that, and know that.
You have been on a journey – it is a life long journey – and it is your journey that tells the story of who you really are, what your care about, what has knocked you and what has built you up. If you were to look upon your own story with loving curiosity, great respect and a perspective of amazement as to your bravery – I think that you will step into a new feeling of self worth.
Of course there are so many times that you reflect on and you so wish that you had done things very differently. You might have many regrets that you are mourning. Even those you can look at through a new lens of forgiveness and understanding (given the time and the circumstances) that can allow you to cut those cords that are tying you down – and allow yourself to look through a fresher lens that acknowledges and is excited about possibilities, potential and purpose.
What I find is that I ruminate and repeat to myself stock standard and very repetitive musings to myself. They are rehearsed, automatic and constant. Today I promised to myself that I would halt my train of though – and really actively pay attention to what I say to my self. It is an alarming lesson. A lesson to just not let those debilitating thoughts take over without facing and question them – and even better, speaking some real truth over them. I am glad to be doing this, and am committing myself to making this a habit.
Today, I urge you to notice your thinking. Is it kind, real or helpful? How could you reframe and rephrase what you are saying to yourself? What are words that are more encouraging and respectful to you? What can you tell yourself, in a truthful and honest way, that enables you to be more you – to reach out and do all that you are so extremely capable of doing and being?
As I remind my clients so regularly – you are of great value, of great worth and it is YOU that are needed by your family and friends and community at large. This is why we are here. For one another.
You be you – and I urge you to be joyful in that.
