What is the advice that you would give yourself now, knowing that you already do know the very  right answer?   It might not be the perfect answer, but it is a good plan that, with action taken, will yield valuable and worth while results.   Can you imagine what it would be like if you really did trust yourself to know that your instinct is correct, the advice that you give yourself is good and that you know yourself to be totally capable and able to ‘figure it out. 

I am the first to speak to friends and mentors when looking for a solution.  I often do reach out for guidance and reassurance – and I am very glad that I do.  I firmly believe that we are designed with a ‘communal spirit’ imbedded into our DNA and I recognise the utter wisdom that many around me possess.  HOWEVER, I also know how easy it is to keep asking others for advice, ideas and for the vision forward when already I do have the answer – but just need to back myself!.  We have brilliant minds, our own intuitions and our own superb wisdom that perhaps just needs abit of ‘putting into practice’.  

This morning a client returned from a meeting with his tutor.  He was so frustrated, disappointed and (quite understandably) extremely irritated.  He was wanting to plan forward.  He wanted recommendations that would enhance the learning for his degree and he also wanted fresh ideas for work experience.  He wanted a sounding board.  Non was forthcoming.  At all.  His tutor did not give him insights and a plan of action.  Quite frankly, he made his supposedly important role ‘redundant’.  

My client rang me to ‘laugh’ about it  – and the first words that came to my mind were “be your own coach”.  You know what you want to accomplish through this degree, you are excited by the ideas that you are you are considering, you want to go the ‘extra mile’ – and so, be that ambitious young man and keep doing what you know that you can do, are capable of doing and do NOT be deterred by an academic who lacks vision!  

Have CONVICTION, have AMBITION and act on your vision.  Be committed to it and doors will open.  

Believe that you WILL have VICTORY and you KNOW what you need to do to get going.  Also, importantly, OTHERS will come your way and they will INSPIRE you with MEANINGFUL GUIDANCE.
