I have no doubt that you already know exactly what you need to do today to ensure that you optimise yourself for good health. So much of excellent health starts with our BRAIN. Whether attributed to mindset or your actual physical well being, our BRAIN health is central to our overall health.
For myself, I know that I too often fall into the pattern of asking others what they are doing to be so healthy and energised! Given the investment that I have made over many years in learning and applying, I know what I need to know – and I know how to take the action however I think that often it is a matter of actually TRUSTING oneself enough and giving oneself the credit in knowing, intuitively, what is good for us.
So, given what I (and you) already know, the challenge that I set is to really become conscious about taking care of our overall health inorder that we can give of our best in our work, our interactions with others and be in our lives with presence, commitment and joy.
Nourishment – food that enhances good brain health: less can be more; food that is delicious and full of scrumptious nutrients. This is about food, and eating in, that feeds our souls, our minds as well as our bodies.
Water – refresh yourself! This is great for our brains, our skin and helps our organs to do the great work that they are doing.
Friendships – interactions and heart warming conversations. Being there for somebody else is good for us! We learn from one another and it is an attitude of real care and interest that helps us to come fully alive. I sincerely believe that we are on this earth to be in relationship with each other. Commit to listening and being open to all sorts of possibilities that explain our fellow beings. Look for the best in that person. Know that they are doing the best that they can in that moment – under these circumstances.
Challenges – whether ping pong or being curious in learning. Perhaps your challenge for today is to notice the tiny things that are joyful. For me, this morning, it was a feeling of cold air on my face as I watched the sun rise – for just a moment. I have to challenge myself to complete tasks; to Wordle; in becoming physically stronger; to believing in my capabilities … and the list continues!
Backing yourself – knowing that your brain is very brilliant, renews itself and can be managed by your thinking and what you tell it. What are the thoughts that you are choosing to dwell on – and how does it feel if you were to change the thinking. If there is something that is distressing you, or something that you are being presumptive about, what if you chose to see yourself as alright in this moment or something that is more true. And speak to yourself as you would a treasured friend. You are wise – know that!
You really matter – and thus taking care of your BRAIN health ensures that you are equipped to do what you do.
