Even if you have not done any kind of formal exercise in some time, it is the ‘moving’ that is so vital to our health and well-being. What about challenging yourself to something fantastically and easily small. I find that even just the smallest amount of moment just helps one to reset and is, above all, very energising. The movement helps with emotions that can remain stuck in your body and also it is astounding to know that it does not take much to have a great overall impact on you and your mind.
Dancing as you clean your teeth, or standing on one foot for seconds at a time!;
Moving generously whilst the kettle boils;
Bounce 38 times on the balls of your feet;
Run up and down your staircase 3 times – with a happy smile on your face;
Stretching up so high …. As high as you can, sweeping your arms down to the ground. Breath so deeply and sense the blood moving around your body;
What happens if you run on the spot for a bit?;
And what if you just clench and release muscles whilst sitting at your desk?;
Shaking also releases tension;
What happens when you decide to skip or walk 100 steps?
The above are just some ideas. I put them out there as a challenge because I know that for myself there are times when I just do not want to move and I almost will myself into slumber and it is after just a short time of movement that I feel reactivated and can tackle my next task with a bit more gusto! Have a wonderful day!
