Following up from this weeks Instagram Post:
- Fear gives the ‘jolt’ to adventure.
I am the first to admit that I overthink and over catastophise and then find the perfect excuse to just ‘not do it’. Fear is a feeling and it is a feeling that we fuel with our thoughts. And, as you know, it is easy to go down just one singe track with these thoughts. Remember too, that the feelings of fear are you experiencing your thinking.
So, when I read that ‘fear’ is the trigger to step out of your comfort zone … it resonated with me. Fear does not mean that I need to remain stuck and just not do what I had been thinking about doing – but rather to see as as a prompt to ‘branch out’ – to see the next step as one of ‘adventure’, to be curious and courageous, to take action and just get on with what needs to be done.
2. It is alright to feel uncertain. You can still take action steps.
Uncertainty does not mean that it would be wrong to do something, but rather that you it gives you the pause to challenge what your thinking is around something and as to what your next step could be. Often it is the courageous thing to do to take action despite the uncertainty … other times the uncertainty is a useful signal to take a new direction.
Uncertainty does not mean stop. It means to choose.
3. Choose to do the right thing at the right time.
And when you have so much going on there will be times when you need to choose to say no to some things so that you can get going with what is really important and needs to be done now. So much of life is about the seasons of life … and though there are things that you would love to be doing now, just trust that you will be doing them at another point when the time is right. You do have time – but again it is about deliberately choosing how you use it.
May the rest of the week be a wonderful one.
