Making Mondays Matter …

Good morning on this Marvellous Monday, Motivating Monday, Mighty Monday.

The academic terms are under way and I am just considering as to what are the habits that are so worthwhile in putting into place now – no matter the stage that you are currently at in your studies – that become a part of the structure of your working life that WILL reap very valuable and satisfying results.

So much of my work is about having to learn skills and strategies for myself.  As of this week I am excited to implement the  3-3-3 plan.

EVERY DAY:

1.  INTENTIONALLY working for 3 hours on an IMPORTANT current project.

2.  Complete 3 NECESSARY, URGENT (though not time consuming) tasks.

3.  Address 3 MAINTENANCE tasks.

And perhaps to add to the ‘3’ theme:

AND starting the day getting very INTENTIONAL about 3 things that you really WANT TO GET DONE.

Some ideas:  Your FOCUSED 3 hours might look like:

Really engaging in 3 hours worth of lessons and lectures and choosing to review your work; spending 3 hours diligently writing, researching, planning projects – or whatever is VITAL to good work.  It is 3 hours of honing in to what is important for that day.

Completing your 3 tasks might look like – getting your home work completed and handed in; speaking to your tutor; putting together your timetable for the week; getting starting on a project; speaking to a friend or reading out to somebody; or, signing up for an activity or society.

And your maintenance tasks might be about:  keeping your work and living space well ordered; managing your budget for the week; shopping for a wholesome supper; exercising in a way that energises your; calling somebody important.  This is about the tiny acts that you do each do so that you are keeping yourself on track.

May this Monday really matter in that you are setting yourself up for a worthwhile day, impacting on a very worthwhile week ahead.
