‘Finishing Friday’, today, is drawing to a rapid close. I wonder how your week has gone? I wonder what you are planning for your weekend? And I wonder what your are telling yourself about the upcoming weeks ahead?
I all too easily let the day pass bye, only getting down to the things that are important just a tad too late. What I have found to be very helpful in overcoming procrastination and just getting on with things is to set an INTENTION for that day, or even for a moment. Setting of an intention gives me a focus, it wakes my brain up to living up to an expectation that I have say yes to. And setting intentions is another way of saying YES to something that is important in the long run.
Intentions change. Examples of intentions could be: FOCUS; WISE; ACHIEVING; JOYOUS; CALM; WISE; STUDIOUS; THOUGHTFUL; TRUSTING INTUITION; POWERFUL; DETERMINED; THANKFUL … And to ensure that you stay on point, ask the Yes / No question: Am I showing up now as: determine; graceful; strong; empathetic … etc etc ….and if not, what do I need to do inorder to do so!
As I write I am thinking especially of the students who are writing final exams at school. You have a few weeks to go. And you really do have time to make a great difference to you exam approach, exam learning and exam results.
Perhaps this is a good time to reinvigorate your intentions; What about setting yourself an audaciously ambitious goal and massively engaging in the work that you need to get done (and this could be for just a short spurt – but is something!). What if your intention as of now was to become an extraordinary excellent learner, or a stunningly studious scholar. Choose for yourself, but I hope that you will be giving yourself the greatest opportunity to do the best that you can from the place where you are at, now.
This is just a little mind hack but one that is quick to implement and it ‘packs a powerful punch’.
