How would it look if you put your heart and soul into this very moment?

“There’s a big difference between empty fatigue and gratifying exhaustion. Life is short. Invest daily in meaningful activities. And don’t wait around! Too often we wait—because we think we need to “find” something new or different to be passionate about. But that’s not true. If you want more passion in your life right now, act accordingly right now! Put your whole heart and soul into the next thing you do. Not into tomorrow’s opportunities, but the opportunity right in front of you. Not into tomorrow’s tasks, but today’s tasks. Not into tomorrow’s run, but today’s run. Not into tomorrow’s conversations, but today’s conversations. I’m absolutely certain you have plenty in your life right now that’s worth your time, energy, and passionate focus. You have people and circumstances in your life that need you as much as you need them. You have a massive reservoir of passionate potential within you, just waiting…”.  Marc and Angel Chernoff

I read blogs and uplift and teach me, and this snippet came from one that I read this morning.  Though I ‘know’ this, I do need constant reminding.  And when I say constant, I mean it!

We are almost packed.  Our house resembles a modern art gallery – our tables and chairs are wrapped to perfection in cardboard.  It is happening fast and throughout the process I am thinking about what I will be needing in a year from now – and what I will need before we get to open our boxes again.  With so much ‘over thinking’ I am getting myself very stuck over the smallest of things.  Do we need this slightly rusty sieve?  I have been using it until now?  It is useful to have another one …. Or not? The questions are going on an on as I am trying to imagine the future kitchen.  The stark reality is that I can ‘assume’ what the future looks like – but these deliberations are not really helping that much – and it is exhausting and quite frankly, very time wasting.  When I catch myself doing this, I am encouraging myself to just appreciate the now as we pack the boxes.  What goes into the box is done in a moment without questioning myself – and I am enjoying much more the vibe of the team helping us and the gratefulness of the years that I have had in South Africa.

It is reminding oneself to remain present. To just give your all into this moment – whether at work, rest or play!  Using that magnificent deep breath to ground and still oneself … and just trusting that the future is taken care of, the past has been let go of, and it is in just being present that is enabling a calmer, more focused and more accomplished present.

How would you be in this very moment if you were to put your heart and your soul into it?

Have a wonderful rest of your day!
